By: Ly David

New Jersey is one of the most populated states in the country, being close to other populated areas like Philadelphia and New York. It is situated in Mid-Atlantic, and just near the states of New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

There are many places to explore in New Jersey. Here are ten of the best places that makes New Jersey a must-see state.

1. The first would be Space Farms Zoo which is popular for being the nesting place of the largest bear in the world, Goliath. However one can also enjoy the zoo/museum displaying odd collections as well as family mementos and other interesting stuff which visitors of all ages will find interesting.

2. Visitors should also drop by what is recognized as “World's Largest Light Bulb” at the Menlo Park Museum. The said light bulb stands 13 feet and weighs 8 tons. It marks the place where Thomas Alba Edison created the light bulb.

3. Then there’s the Northlandz, which is considered the largest miniature railway in the world. It is a marked display of art and creativity with its featured scale model railroads. It makes use of eight miles of track, plus hundreds of pieces coupled with 4,000 buildings. Think of an extreme sports landscape, and Northlandz is the place you’re sure to get.

4. For those who appreciate history, then it is a must to visit Alexander Hamilton's Death Rock. Yes, it is a rock where the legendary statesman and soldier spent his final moments on earth. A bronze statue of Hamilton is perched on top of the Rock of Death.

5. Another top attraction in New Jersey is the Wetlands Institute and Museum. It is located in a cedar shake structure which resembles coast guard at the turn of the century. The station is located at a 6000 acre property overlooking pristine coastal wetlands which are considered a must-visit for bird watchers. There are also other top notch attractions like a nature trail, educational exhibits, aquarium, gift shops, observation tower as well as marsh walks.

6. History buffs will also love the Old Barracks Museum, which is the sole original barracks from the Indian and French War that remains in existence in the United States. The place is also noted for its role in the victory of George Washington over the Hessian troops.

7. New Jersey is also popular for its Six Flags Wild Safari, which is considered the largest drive-thru Safari in the world outside of Africa. Here one can get a close look at more than 1200 species roaming freely around the park. There are elephants, zebra, and tigers, among others, that walk around the area.

8. Visitors will also appreciate the Six Flags Hurricane Harbor which is gaining recognition for its water adventure activities. Here visitors can partake in the fun with thrill rides and a wave pool.
